Yellowstone Big Rock Inn

Great value and location! We debated between paying double to stay in the park, or to stay in Gardiner. I'm glad we stayed here and drove into the park. Mammoth is only 10 minutes away. Mammoth has terrible meal options, and Gardiner has much better options.

We were very happy with our stay at Big Rock Inn. With everything so expensive inside the park, this was a great alternative and we were so glad we stayed here. We visited Mammoth Hot Springs early evening, came back to Gardiner (10 min drive) and ate dinner, then stayed the night before heading south further into the park the next day. The room was large, 2 queen beds, a sofa, and a desk with chair. The bathroom was nice as well. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, this was a budget friendly option that was very nice.

Here for family trip with a little one. Very happy with the stay, room is spacious, clean and come with a couch as well. This is probably one of the best 2 star place I have stayed at so far. It’s 2 mins drive to most of the dinning option, right beside the grocery store and there’s a paradise deli right beside it.

A gem! we appreciated the spacious room, nice view, spacious area out front of the room on the walkway with little tables & chairs to sit, chill and enjoy. that area isnt private but we had no issues with the neighbors we had, ymmv. The host was a jolly pleasant gal and made us feel welcome. would definitely use again when back in the area. OH, and we saw several elk literally right next to the hotel, mom's with their babies. Yes you have to give caution to those but the only person we ever saw them give issue was a teen who thought it was a good idea to try to skateboard through them. (he's ok, but one of em did force him to back up). but everyone we saw that were just nearby taking pictures and watching never seemed to bother the elk at all.

The view from balcony was spectacular! Close to bars and restaurants. Had a room on 3rd floor with a kitchenette and it was perfect. No complaints and driving through the town we decided we had the best hotel at a reasonable price!

Best value for the buck! Location is close to the north entrance of the Yellowstone park, many restaurants and grocery stores.The rooms are clean and the view from the windows is outstanding. We were there in the Elk rut season and saw so many elks on the road just by being in the walkway/balcony. Will definitely stay in this place if we visit Yellowstone again.

Absolutely amazing place to stay! Rooms were large and clean. Bathroom area was great. We had a walk-in shower. We asked for river towels and they gave those to us with no issues. Great place to see the Elk stroll through town. Parking was great too. Felt very safe. Elevator worked great too. We stayed 2 nights.

This is a great option for a Yellowstone trip, I booked a standard room and it was huge, The beds were comfortable and the one staff member we interacted with was nice. There were chairs and a little table outside every room for guests to use as all the rooms seemed to have a Mountain View. The other nice thing is that they provided a squeegee and window washing liquid for vehicle windows. Bear spray was also available to rent. The reason it gets 4 stars on service is that there is no daily room cleaning or towels replaced at least for our two-night stay which wasn’t an issue for us, but we could get new towels daily by setting them out on the provided chairs outside the room. And all of this was disclosed at check-in The reason it gets 3 stars for location is because the bold options in Gardiner aren’t the best and it is a bit of a trek to get back to from the bottom of Yellowstone but an ok location if you want to tackle just the northern portion of Yellowstone.
